English singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer and fitness model Fleur East has enjoyed steady career progress since her first taste of the music business in 2005 when she competed in the second series of televised singing competition The X Factor as a member of the girl group Addictiv Ladies.
The artist, also known as Fleur, launched a solo career in 2012 and returned to the X Factor as a solo artist in 2014 where she took the runner-up spot. Interestingly though it wasn’t Ben Haenow, who won The X Factor crown that year, who made the press in the following months. Fleur was hailed as both a style icon and new diva destined for international success. Her pop appeal became obvious during her second stint on The X Factor when her version of Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” hit number one on the iTunes chart. The first contestant to do so.
he girl from east London lists Michael Jackson, Sade, Alicia Keys and Emile Sande among her inspirations and the influences are quite clearly integrated into her own unique style. In 2015 Fleur signed to reality television judge Simon Cowell’s Syco Music record label and released her debut album Love, Sax and Flashbacks. The album peaked at number 14 in the UK album chart. “Sax” the lead single from the album was released in November 2015 and reached number three in the UK. The upbeat tone and production of the song received favourable reviews. She’s since parted company with Syco but there’s bags more in store from this creative performer.
