Birdy keeps happily chirping away

English musician, singer and songwriter Jasmine van den Bogaerde is better known by her stage name Birdy. She had an early introduction to music and learned to play the piano at the age of seven. A year later she was writing her own music.
Birdy’s stage name came from the nickname her parents gave her as a baby. According to them she opened her mouth like a little bird when being fed!

Well since those early days she’s been chirping along quite nicely and not unnoticed!
Birdy won the Open Mic UK in 2008 at the age of 12 and all the signs of talent and success were there early on. Her debut single, a cover version of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” put her in the spotlight, charting all across Europe and earning platinum status in Australia. Birdy’s self-titled debut album was released in 2011 with similar success peaking at number 1 in Australia, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Listen to Birdy and soar to new heights with Lovesongs247 your favourite internet radio station. “Wings” released in 2013 is a pretty song and worth your listening time with its tender and heartfelt lyrical content. The song peaked at number 8 on the UK singles charts making it her only top 10 single to date.
